Golden View

I’m Tommaso Grasso, founder and owner of the Golden View Restaurant.

My career began in 1999. At the age of 19, after a brief university experience, I decided to take over, together with a friend, a small osteria located near Piazza Santa Croce, in which I took my first steps not only in this business but in the world of work in general.

After 3 years the enormous love and passion for this work lead me from not knowing how to use a corkscrew to being responsible for the purchases and sales of most of the finest Tuscan wines. This achieved such success that allowed me to make what I still define today a youthful madness.

I sold the osteria and took over a fast food-like restaurant in the most beautiful area of Florence, getting into debt for 20 years and taking charge of a practically bankrupt business.

In 2002 I founded the Golden View and since that day I have managed and directed it personally.

In all these years there are countless aspects and specializations developed within my work. I remember with joy the creation, together with Paolo Miano, of our Cellar in a 1400s estate in Via de Bardi, one of the most important cellars in Italy. The organization of thousands of jazz concerts, dozens of exhibitions and events related to art with prominent names in the Florentine art scene, thanks to which today I have a collection of over 250 works including paintings and sculptures.

In the recent years I collaborated with various Florentine entities and foundations organizing fundraising for social purposes, such as the Spadolini Foundation, the Misericordia, the Meyer Children Hospital and the Compagnia dei Santas Onlus.

A long journey marked by a common denominator that I carry within me: passion and quality.
